Bettye'S Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large cabbage
    7 slices bacon
    1 large bell pepper
    1 large onion, sliced
    2 cans cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. grated cheese
    1 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Chop cabbage; steam until tender and season with bacon drippings.
    Drain cabbage.
    In large casserole, layer cabbage, chopped bell pepper, sliced onion and then repeat layers.
    Add chopped bacon and cover with mushroom soup.
    Top with cheese and bread crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Serve while hot.
