Orange Date-Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    4 c. flour (save some for nuts and dates)
    2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    8 oz. pkg. chopped dates
    1 c. broken pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs; beat just to mix.
    Add soda to flour and mix alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in grated orange rind.
    Coat the dates and nuts with small amount of flour and add to mix.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Bake in angel food cake pan.
    Pour the following sauce over cake when it's done.
    Let set until completely cool.
