White Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cup milk
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
3/4 cup water
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
6 cups all-purpose flour
Preparation

Add sugar, salt and shortening to milk and scald over low heat until bubbles appear.
Add 3/4 cup water to milk mixture.
Mix yeast and lukewarm water to dissolve, add the two liquid mixtures together in a large bowl.
Add 2 cups flour and beat at medium speed until well mixed.
Remove from bowl, add remaining flour kneading until smooth and satiny (about 5 minutes).
Place in greased pan, cover, let rise until double in bulk.
Punch down and divide into 2 loaves.
Place in well-greased loaf pans and let rise until double.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
When bottom of pan is thumped, done bread will have a hollow sound.
