Microwave Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. H. corn syrup
1 lb. salted peanuts or dry roasted
    1/3 c. water
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Grease 2 baking sheets (12 x 15 1/2-inch or larger).
Place sugar, corn syrup and water in a 3-quart ovenproof bowl.
Microwave on High for 8 to 10 minutes.
When soft ball stage is reached, stirring occasionally, stir in peanuts (syrup forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water and flattens upon removal).
Cook on 80% power for 10 to 12 minutes until hard stage is reached (syrup separates into threads which are hard and brittle).
Stir in butter and baking soda.
    Pour in pan.
    Spread 1/4 inch thick.
    Cool. Break into pieces.
