Buchanan Family Scottish Shortbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter
1 c. white granulated sugar
6 c. flour
Preparation

Soften butter to room temperature.
Add sugar slowly until well blended.
Add flour gradually until all is used.
(May have to finish mixing by hand.)
Divide in half and place in 2 square (or round if necessary) 9-inch, ungreased pans.
Dough should be 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.
Prick with a fork all over and around the edge. Score with a knife the size you wish to cut when finished.
About 1-inch square works well.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Let cool slightly before cutting with thin, sharp knife.
Should be stored in tin or Tupperware.
