Microwave Lasagna - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce, flavored with meat
1 tsp. each: oregano leaves and dry basil
1 large clove garlic, minced or pressed
1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
1/2 lb. ground beef (optional)
3 c. shredded Cheddar or Jack cheese
1 c. (8 oz.) Ricotta cheese
1 c. Mozzarella cheese, very, very finely grated
grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
-
Open spaghetti jar and stir in the oregano, basil and garlic. Pour about 1/3 of sauce evenly into a 7 x 11-inch baking dish, then stir water into remaining sauce and set aside.
Arrange 1/3 of noodles in a single layer in dish.
If used, evenly crumble the uncooked beef on top.
Sprinkle with 1/2 of Cheddar cheese, then evenly pour over about 1/3 of the remaining sauce.
Arrange 1/2 of the remaining noodles on top and sprinkle with remaining Cheddar cheese.
Distribute Ricotta cheese over all, then pour over 1/2 of the remaining sauce.
Add remaining noodles; cover with rest of sauce.
Cover dish with plastic wrap tightly with 2 to 3 wraps. Cook in microwave oven at half power for 10 minutes, turn dish and cook another 10 minutes at half power.
Then let stand in oven, covered, 5 minutes.
Turn dish again and cook, covered, at full power for 14 minutes, turning dish several times.
Uncover lasagna and sprinkle generously Mozzarella, then with Parmesan and cook, covered, for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Remember, to cook cheese in microwave makes it tough, so less time is better. Remove from oven and let stand covered for 10 to 15 minutes.
