Ginger Pears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Bosc pears
    2 c. apple juice
    1/2 c. red wine
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger or 1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
Preparation
    Peel and quarter pears; remove cores.
    Combine apple juice, red wine and ginger in medium saucepan.
    Place pears in poaching liquid.
    Bring to boil; reduce to simmer and cover.
    Cook about 15 minutes or until pears are tender.
    Remove pears and set aside. Continue to cook, poaching liquid until thickened slightly to form a thin sauce (about 10 minutes).
    Return pears to sauce, turning to coat thoroughly.
    Place in serving dishes, spooning the sauce over the pears.
