Country Fried Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. boneless steak
    1/3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 small onions, sliced
    1 c. water
    1/4 c. flour
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. brewed coffee
    2 tsp. A.1.
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cut steak into serving size pieces.
    Mix the next 3 ingredients.
    Dredge steak in flour mixture; lightly pound floured steak.
    Cook steak in hot oil in skillet until brown.
    Turn steak 1 time.
    Add sliced onions and water.
    Cover; reduce the heat. Simmer 30 minutes.
    Remove the steak; save drippings in skillet. Add 1/4 cup flour to drippings.
    Stir until smooth.
    Cook until brown.
    Gradually add milk and coffee; cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until thick.
    Stir in last 3 ingredients.
    Serve steak with gravy.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
