Hawaiian Yams - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large can yams, drained
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk or cream
small can coconut
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
small can crushed pineapple (with juice)
small jar maraschino cherries (with juice)
Preparation

Mix first 7 ingredients and place in casserole dish.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Chop maraschino cherries.
Mix with crushed pineapple, sugar and cornstarch.
Cook in saucepan until mixture is glossy.
(May need to add more cornstarch.)
Pour over yams in casserole and bake an additional 10 minutes.
