Sugarless Date-Nut Squares(Diabetic) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    1/2 c. raisins
    1/2 c. chopped prunes
    1 c. water
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. salt (I do not use any)
    2 eggs (I use only egg whites and use 3)
    3 Tbsp. frozen unsweetened apple juice, thawed, undiluted
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Simmer fruits in water for 5 minutes.
    Stir in butter and margarine; cool mixture.
    Mix remaining ingredients together. Stir in cooled fruit mixture.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cool; cut into 2-inch squares.
    Yields 24 servings.
