Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 box cooked peas (cool)
    1 slice onion (optional)
    1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 jar mayonnaise
    2 shredded carrots
    1 jar bacon bits
Preparation
    In large bowl, break up 1 head of lettuce.
    Put layer of peas, shredded carrots, onion and top with 1/2 jar mayonnaise.
    Put on a layer of cheese and end with a topping of bacon bits.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Toss just before serving.
