Abgusht(Bean Soup) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried kidney or pinto beans
    1 whole small potato
    1 medium onion
    1/2 pkg. stew meat of lamb shank
    4 oz. tomato sauce
Preparation
    Rinse beans and set out the night before.
    Place beans in stew pot.
    Wash potato and put in stew pot (whole with peel).
    Slice onion; add stew meat or lamb shank.
    Add tomato sauce and enough water to fill pan 1/2 full.
    Salt to taste.
    Slow cook for 2 to 3 hours.
    Remove any bones.
    Peel potato.
    Drain broth.
    Mash all together.
    Serve with chips or bread.
