Herb Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
1 tsp. caraway seed
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. sage
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 2/3 c. flour (if using self-rising, omit salt)
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add shortening, sugar, salt, caraway seed, nutmeg, sage and 2 cups flour.
Blend well.
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
Add remaining flour and beat until smooth.
Scrape sides of bowl.
Cover and let rise 30 minutes or until double.
Stir down by beating 30 strokes.
Spread evenly in loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch).
Smooth top with floured hands.
Cover and let rise 40 minutes or until double.
Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Bake 45 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
Butter tops and remove from pan to cool.
