Macaroni And Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. macaroni
    1 pt. (2 c.) milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    black pepper
    pinch of cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1 egg
    3/4 lb. hard Cheddar cheese or similar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Cook the macaroni for 20 minutes in boiling salted water. Drain well and put back in the saucepan on a very low heat, with the butter and the milk.
    Let the macaroni absorb the milk.
    Then add the peppers and the dry mustard; mix well each time.
    Add the cheese (except 2 to 3 tablespoons), remove from the heat and beat until it is all creamy.
    Finally add the well beaten egg, pour into a greased ovenproof dish.
    Sprinkle with remaining cheese on top and bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Just enough to let it set.
    Put under a broiler for couple of minutes to brown the top, if desired.
    The sauce should be curdy and creamy.
    It can be served with a few drops of Tabasco sauce.
    Serves 2 to 4.
