Royal Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 oz. red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vinegar
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Combine baking soda and vinegar and let set. Combine other ingredients thoroughly and add baking soda/vinegar mixture last. Bake for 30 minutes.
