Fruit Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
    1 (10 oz.) jar preserves (any flavor you desire)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture; mix well forming crumbs. Press half of crumb mixture into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Spread preserves over top. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
