1 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
4 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. rolled oats
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 c. nuts (pecans)
3 c. flour
Preparation

In a large mixer bowl, beat first 4 ingredients on high until very light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
Add eggs, one at a time and beat well after each one.
Beat in vanilla extract and lemon juice.
In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and oats.
Gradually add to butter mixture, blending thoroughly.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop 1/4 cup (scant) of dough each onto lightly greased cookie sheets (about 3-inches apart).
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 17 to 19 minutes.
Store in an airtight container.
Makes about 3 dozen.
