Ingredients

1 c. scalded milk
1/4 c. shortening or margarine
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
1 pkg. yeast (compressed or dry)
1 egg
3 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Combine milk, shortening or margarine, sugar, salt and water. Cool to lukewarm with the water.
Add yeast.
Blend in egg.
Add sifted flour.
Mix until dough is well blended and soft.
Bake on heated waffle iron.
Makes 6 waffles.
