Grandma Copple'S Caramel Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 c. cream
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 to 3 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix the first 3 ingredients in heavy pan.
    Heat to almost boiling stage and keep hot.
    Dissolve 1 1/2 cups sugar in iron skillet; heat to golden brown.
    Add pan mixture, one large spoon at a time, until all mixed.
    (When adding to sugar, be careful and stir rapidly to keep from boiling over.)
    Continue cooking to soft ball stage.
