Ingredients

1 c. dark brown sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
pinch of salt
1 c. milk
2 eggs, separated
2 Tbsp. butter
1 (8-inch) baked pie shell
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
4 Tbsp. white sugar
Preparation

Combine brown sugar, flour and salt in a double boiler.
Heat milk and slowly stir into flour and sugar.
Cook until thickened.
