Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    leaf lettuce
    1/4 c. green onion, sliced
    6 bacon slices
    1/4 c. bacon fat
    3 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. sugar
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Wash and drain lettuce.
    Tear into small pieces; add onion. Saute bacon until crisp.
    Remove from pan and crumble over lettuce.
    Pour off all but 1/4 cup of the bacon fat in the frypan; add sugar, vinegar and salt and pepper to taste.
    Bring to a boil and pour over the lettuce.
    Toss.
