Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 c. confectioners sugar, sifted
pecans (optional)
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan.
Add brown sugar.
Boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add milk and keep stirring until mixture boils.
Remove from heat and let cool down.
Add enough sifted sugar to make spreading consistency, beating well after each addition.
(If icing gets too stiff while icing cake, just add a little milk to make it spreading consistency.)
Add pecans or press on sides of cake.
Makes enough icing for a sheet cake.
Double for a layer cake.
