Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (4 to 4 1/2 lb.) stewing hen or broiler/fryer chicken, cut up
3 1/4 c. flour
1 (10 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup
10 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
1/3 c. milk
Preparation

Cook chicken in a
4-quart
Dutch
oven
with
salt and water for
2 to 2 1/2 hours if using stewing hen or for 40 to 50 minutes if using fryer or broiler chicken.
Remove chicken from broth and let cool.
Remove meat from bones and cut into chunks. Skim
fat from broth.
Set aside 3/4 cup of broth for dumplings and also set aside 5 cups of broth for soup.
