Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. nutmeats (if desired)
Preparation

Mix flour, spices and salt and cut in the 1/2 cup Crisco with a pastry blender or fork.
Take out 1/2 cup of the mixture to be used as topping.
