Red Cabbage - Polish Style * - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 head red cabbage
1 large onion, sliced
oil or margarine (to saute onion)
1 large, tart apple
brown sugar and wine vinegar to taste
Preparation

Saute chopped onion until golden and add shredded cabbage (cabbage should be of rather coarse consistency, so food processor would spoil the character of the dish).
Add water as necessary so cabbage does not stick; add brown sugar and vinegar to taste, then add chopped apple.
This dish can be stored, frozen and reheated.
