Alabama Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    6 Tbsp. shortening
    1 pkg. yeast
    1 c. lukewarm buttermilk
    butter
Preparation
    Sift the flour, sugar, salt and soda together into a bowl and cut in the shortening.
    Dissolve the yeast in the buttermilk, then stir into the flour mixture.
    Turn out onto a floured board and knead 30 times.
    Roll out 1/4-inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter.
    Butter tops and stack 2 biscuits together until all are stacked.
    Place on a baking sheet and let rise until doubled in bulk.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until brown.
