Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    2 c. fresh milk
    2 egg yolks
    1/3 c. coconut
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt; add evaporated milk, then egg yolks and beat well.
    Add fresh milk and cook in a heavy saucepan or double boiler, stirring continually, until thick. Remove from heat.
    Add coconut and vanilla.
    Pour into a cool pie shell.
    Whip egg whites until frothy; add 1/4 cup sugar gradually. Beat until meringue stands in soft peaks.
    Add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla.
    Spread over cooled pie filling, sealing meringue to edge of crust.
    Sprinkle with 1/4 cup coconut and brown in 350\u00b0 oven.
