Spanish Bar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small box raisins
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. water
    4 c. flour
    2 c. white sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour 17 x 12-inch cookie sheet.
    In a 2-quart pan, heat raisins, shortening and water; bring to a boil (but not rolling) for 20 minutes.
    In another large bowl, mix remaining ingredients.
    While hot, add liquid (raisin) mixture into dry mixture; blend and pour into cookie sheet.
    Bake to golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.
    Dust with powdered sugar or a cream cheese frosting (icing).
