Herbed Black-Eyed Peas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sliced green onions
2 Tbsp. butter
3/4 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. dried basil
1 1/2 Tbsp. dried parsley
1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried black-eyed peas
water
Preparation

Cover peas with water.
Soak overnight; drain.
(Frozen or fresh peas can be substituted.)
Saute onions in butter until soft.
Add peas and enough water to cover.
Bring to a boil.
Stir in sugar and seasonings.
Simmer, covered, until peas are soft.
