Fried Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. dried apples, cooked and drained
    1 stick butter
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    your favorite biscuit pastry
    vegetable shortening
Preparation
    Put apples in a pan and cover with water.
    Cook until apples are good and tender, approximately 1 hour.
    Drain excess water off apples.
    Mix the rest of the ingredients with the apples.
    Put in refrigerator until cold.
    Roll dough out about the size of a saucer.
    Put 2 tablespoons apple mixture to one side of the dough. Then cover with the other half.
    Press down edges with a floured fork.
    Place on waxed paper that is sprinkled with flour.
    Make all pies.
    Fry in iron skillet in hot shortening.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Makes 18.
