Seven-Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 qt. shredded lettuce
    2 c. chopped tomatoes
    2 c. mushroom slices
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed and drained
    4 oz. mild Cheddar cheese, cubed
    1 c. red onion rings
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. sour cream
Preparation
    In 2-quart serving bowl, layer lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas, cheese and onions.
    Spread mayo over onions, sealing to edge of bowl.
    Top with sour cream.
    Cover; chill several hours or overnight.
    Garnish with bacon and shredded cheese, if desired.
