Swiss Banana Cake - cooking recipe

1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
2 medium ripe bananas, sliced
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sour milk *
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

*To sour milk, add enough milk to 1 teaspoon vinegar to make 1/3 cup.
