Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    6 1/2 oz. pkg. pecans, chopped
    6 oz. chocolate chips
    14 oz. caramels
    3/4 c. butter, melted
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
Preparation
    Mix cake mix as directed on package.
    Add 1/4 cup evaporated milk and 3/4 cup melted butter.
    In double boiler, melt caramels and 1/4 cup evaporated milk.
    Pour 1/2 cake mixture in 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Bake 20 minutes until done (firm).
    Pour caramel mixture over and spread.
    Pour chopped pecans and chocolate chips over mixture.
    Pour remainder of cake mixture over it.
    Bake 10 minutes.
    Better if stands for 24 hours.
