Mystery Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 Ritz crackers
    1 c. chopped pecans
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 egg whites
    1/2 pt. heavy cream
    chocolate shavings
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Chop crackers and nuts in blender. Gradually add sugar and baking powder. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold them into blender.
    Put mixture in a greased 8-inch pie plate.
    Bake for 30 minutes. Cool. Whip the cream with sugar to taste.
    Spread on top.
    Garnish with chocolate shavings.
    Refrigerate 3 hours.
