Crackletop Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream sugar and shortening.
    Add egg; mix well. Stir in molasses.
    Sift dry ingredients and add to molasses mixture.
    Chill.
    Roll into balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
    Roll in sugar.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven 18 to 20 minutes.
