Boston Cream Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. syrup (any flavor)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 stick oleo
Preparation
    Cook sugar, milk, and syrup until it forms a soft ball in cold water.
    Then add vanilla and oleo.
    Beat a few minutes, and pour into a buttered pan.
    Nuts may be added before you beat, if desired.
