Apple Cinnamon Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. Kretschmer wheat germ
    1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. skim milk
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 egg whites
    1 c. chopped apples
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Lightly spray 12 medium muffin cups with no stick cooking spray or line with paper baking cups.
    Combine flour, wheat germ, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and salt.
    Add combined milk, oil, egg whites and apples. Mix just until moistened.
    Fill muffin cups almost full.
    Combine remaining 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.
    Sprinkle over muffins.
    Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until brown.
