Apple Pandowdy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. regular sugar
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    8 c. sliced tart cooking apples
    2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
    Pastry for pie (recipe follows)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in large bowl.
    Stir in apples.
    Put into ungreased 2-quart casserole.
    Dot with oleo.
    Cover apples with pastry, placing inside of dish.
    Bake 30 minutes.
    Cut crust into small pieces into apple filling.
    Bake longer until apples are tender and pieces of crust are golden.
    Serve warm.
