East Texas Mulagan Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can butter beans
    1 can corn
    8 medium potatoes (chunks)
    3 lb. meat of choice
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 medium onions
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown meat in shortening.
    Put meat and remaining ingredients into pot.
    Add enough water to cover meat and vegetables.
    Simmer for 1 hour.
    Serve over rice.
