Basic Butter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2/3 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Prepare 2 (8-inch) round cake pans. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Blend in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    Add milk and vanilla alternately with flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
    Pour batter into prepared pans.
    Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
    Cool 10 minutes before removing from pans.
    Cool completely on wire racks before frosting with Fluffy White Frosting (recipe in this section).
