Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2/3 c. milk
3 Tbsp. salad oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cream
2 egg whites, unbeaten
2 to 3 medium to large onions (Vidalia onions are best)
Preparation

Sift flour into bowl.
Add milk, cream, oil and egg whites. Beat until smooth.
Cut onions in 1/4-inch slices.
Dip rings into batter and fry in deep fat (365\u00b0).
Fry until desired color (2 to 3 minutes).
Drain on paper towels and salt.
This batter clings to the onion rings and does not separate.
