Christmas Prunes Appetizer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. dried prunes, dried
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. sherry, brandy or Port
    almonds
    bacon
Preparation
    Cover with cold water.
    Bring to boiling point and simmer about 20 minutes until tender.
    Add sugar; cook 5 minutes more. Add 1/2 cup or more sherry, brandy or Port.
    Place in a Mason jar. Chill until needed.
    Almonds, blanched to stuff prunes before serving and secure with toothpick (wooden and wet).
    Broil until bacon is crisp and serve.
