Meat Balls With Spaghetti - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 large cans tomatoes
    2 small cans tomato paste
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. each: salt and pepper
    2 bay leaves
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 lb. ground pork
    1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    2 tsp. parsley
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. long spaghetti
Preparation
    Brown onion in hot olive oil.
    Add tomatoes, tomato paste, water and seasonings.
    Cook slowly for 1 hour.
    Combine remaining ingredients, except spaghetti; mix thoroughly.
    Form into small balls; brown in olive oil.
    Add to sauce; cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
    Cook spaghetti in boiling, salted water until tender; drain.
    Serve sauce over hot spaghetti.
    Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
    Makes 6 servings.
