Great Grandma'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter and lard, mixed
1 egg
1 c. molasses
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten egg and molasses. Sift all dry ingredients and add.
Add hot water last and beat until smooth.
Bake in greased pan for 40 to 45 minutes at 350\u00b0. Makes 15 pieces.
