Western Style Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sliced onions
    2 chopped green peppers
    1 c. diced celery
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 lb. moose stew meat (1-inch cubes)
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tsp. salt
    16 oz. tomato sauce
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp. chopped green chilies
    2 c. water
    3 diced potatoes
    1 small turnip, diced
    6 chopped carrots
    1/4 c. water and 3 Tbsp. flour, mixed to a smooth paste
Preparation
    Saute onions, peppers and celery in shortening. Add meat and salt. Brown meat on all sides, stirring frequently. Add tomato sauce, bay leaf, green chilies and water. Simmer 3 to 4 hours. Add potatoes, turnip and carrots. Thicken to desired consistency with flour and water paste. Simmer 1 hour or until vegetables are tender.
