Civil War Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 scant c. sugar
1 scant tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 scant c. butter
1 egg
4 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Preparation

Mix thoroughly sugar, soda and salt.
Cream mixture with butter; add egg and mix well.
To this, add the water, vinegar and vanilla.
