Bean And Rice Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 slices bacon or ham, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    4 c. water
    1 (16 oz.) can navy beans (undrained)
    1 (16 oz.) can pinto beans (undrained)
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. Minute rice
Preparation
    In a large pan, cook and stir meat, onion and celery until tender.
    Add water, beans, tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
    Cover; bring to a boil.
    Stir in rice.
    Replace cover; remove from heat.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Makes 8 cups.
