Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plus 1 tsp. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 oz. bottle red food coloring
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. cake flour, sifted once
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. hot water
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream the sugar and Crisco well.
    Add salt and eggs and beat well.
    Add buttermilk alternately with flour.
    Add soda, hot water and vanilla; mix well.
    Pour into two 8-inch layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Frost with favorite frosting.
