Cowboy Jerky - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. lean beef strips
    4 oz. salt
    1/2 oz. garlic powder
    1/2 oz. black pepper
    pinch of cure salt
    2 Tbsp. liquid smoke
    2 qt. water
Preparation
    Cut beef strips about 1/4-inch thick. Make brine, combining all ingredients. Soak meat in brine approximately 6 hours or longer. Remove meat from brine and hang up or lay out flat to dry.
