Christmas Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 pkg. or 3 Tbsp. dry yeast
3 c. scalded milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. lukewarm water
10 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped currants
1/2 c. chopped citron
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped candied cherries
2 tsp. cardamon
Preparation

Mix yeast, sugar, salt, cardamon and 4 cups of flour in a large bowl.
Heat milk, water and butter to scalding (130\u00b0).
Add flour mixture and beat well for 10 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, and beat thoroughly after each one.
Add fruit and remaining flour; mix well.
Knead for 10 minutes.
Grease bowl, turn bread into the bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled. Punch down, knead and let rise until doubled again.
Punch down and shape into 4 loaves.
Put into greased pans.
Brush top with egg white and let rise until doubled in the pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Slice and serve toasted with butter.
